What is CCTV Camera?

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are commonly used to monitor any location as live and recorded footages. Output of all the cameras are connected to Digital video Recorder (DVR) by wire to storage the footages using surveillance Hard disk. User can decide the recording duration and hard disk capacity will be be provided accordingly. There is no restriction for minimum or maximum number of cameras. All the cameras are fitted with Infrared (IR) LEDs to see in low light or dark conditions. CCTV cameras mostly used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring such as homes, schools, colleges, banks, stores, and other areas where security is needed.

Below are the detailed steps of how to connect and install Godrej CCTV camera or any other brand CCTV Camera in any places,

• Take some lengths of CCTV cables depends on how much distance between your camera and the Digital Video Recorder (DVR).

• Connect one end of the co-axial cable with the Camera by using BNC and DC connectors (BNC is a connector used to connect the camera and the co-axial cable inside the CCTV Cable, DC connector is used to connect a Camera DC pin with the CCTV cable power wires) Note: CCTV cable will consists of co-axial cables and power wires embedded in it, Co-axial cable transmit the captured video to DVR and the power wire is to transmit the current by which camera will work) Note: All brands CCTV cameras will work only with Direct Current (DC) for the greater stability.

• In the other end of the co-axial cable has to connect with Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and the Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS). Power wire has to connect with SMPS by using DC connectors, Through SMPS only CCTV camera will get power supply to work. Co-axial cable has to connect with the Digital Video recorder by using DC connector, this is how CCTV camera captured video will flow to Digital Video Recorder. Note: Digital Video Recorder is used to record, save and play back the videos in Monitor / TV screen / Laptop.

• Now insert the Hard disk inside the Digital Video Recorder (DVR), Capacity of the Hard disk depends on how many CCTV cameras you are going to connect, each CCTV camera resolution quality and how many days of video data you want to keep it in the Hard disk, in general people used to keep last 1 - 2 weeks of videos recorded available, after that it will start override the data automatically, At any point of time you will get the last x days of videos data can be retrieved and seen.

• Now connect the DVR to your Monitor / LCD Television by using VGA cable/ HDMI cable.

• Now connect the SMPS, DVR and the Monitor to the designated power points,preferably uninterruptible stabilized power supply and you're done with the installation

• Now switch on the Monitor power button, You're Godrej DVR will boot you're Monitor with CCTV camera video. Now you're setup is done. Connect a mouse in to the DVR for easy DVR operations such us Motion detection, change of cameras, Zoom the particular camera etc.

How to remote view the CCTV Camera using Mobile or through a computer over the internet & How to connect Godrej DVR to internet WIFI,

Go to the monitor to which your DVR is connected to., With the help of your mouse, Please carry out the following,

• Right Click-->Main Menu-->Network-->select Base tab-->Check DHCP option-->Click on apply

• Right Click-->Main Menu-->Network-->Select P2P tab-->check enable option-->Click on apply

After this operation, you can see status as “connected”. Please carry out the following in your mobile

• Install the Seethru home app in your mobile using the QR code in the P2P tab from DVR or from play store / itunes app store.

• Register your user name and password with valid email id.

• Click “+” on devices tab and select “Manual Adding”

• Enter the device name, Cloud ID (take from P2P tab from DVR), DVR user name and password and Click on save icon.

• Live feed can be seen on clicking the “Start Live View” bar on the bottom.
